New Concept Image "The Soul Rebel"
With the new year I am dropping the moniker "Firestarter" and I will be under re-introducing myself as "The Soul Rebel." I feel that I needed a name that represented more than the party dj, but something that represented Corie, Crown Prince, my musical style, and personal views... What do you think?
Pitbull v Dj Alvaro "Bon Bon Video" Was the remix built on a stolen bootleg from Dj Alvaro?
Alvaro created a bootleg remix to Yolanda Be Cool & DCup’s massive hit “We No Speak Americano”. Dancing Astronaut provided you with the bootleg version in a previous post (you can see it here again). Initially, Alvaro gave this bootleg away for free to all his fans (uploaded below). However, Daily Tunez (major props to the folks there) noticed that Pitbull used Alvaro’s bootleg for his song “Bon Bon”. After briefly speaking with Alvaro, he stated that Pitbull’s management never contacted him in any form. This song is on his official album “Armando” and Alvaro is not even stated in the credits! Watch the video posted above to get more details!
Now, don’t get me wrong here…I respect Pitbull’s taste in house music. I would personally much rather listen to a Pitbull track then some “gangster rap” song, due to the fact that it at least gets the dancefloor moving. It is definitely a step up from the normal “rap scene”. I enjoy the songs that Pitbull drew inspiration from: they include “Destination Calabria”, “Push The Feeling On”, and “We No Speak Americano”. These are classic hits that should not be meddled with. After hearing Pitbull’s version of the songs in some standard bars I couldn’t help but notice that it is somewhat ruining the original versions’ for me. Take a listen, I guarantee all of you will love the classic tracks, but you could do without the Pitbull version?
This brings us to another question…does the house world need to bridge the gap with pop/hip hop and combine forces? Think: David Guetta & Akon – Sexy Bitch. We are seeing this quite frequently now, and I know that the artists could potentially make a huge amount of money, but there definitely is a fine line between joining forces and completely destroying the integrity of a song. I am not saying that David Guetta or Afrojack should stop producing for pop artists, but I just do not want to see another great house song get destroyed by musical talents that are not up to the task.
Even if you don’t mind the new attention that house music is getting, it is concerning that Pitbull is taking a production from Alvaro and not giving him any credit. Pitbull already has enough money and fame, so he can afford to share some of his profits with Alvaro. Imagine if someone took your work and kept 100% of the profits AND didn’t give you public credit. Does anyone know if Pitbull paid the Nightcrawlers or Alex Gaudino for using their beats?
Below I have uploaded a few of Pitbull’s latest tracks for you to listen against the original version. After listening to both..at least a small portion of you will want to keep house music ‘pure”. Remember, house listeners are superior to all and whether you choose to believe it or not…this is a fact.

Streets and Sports: A Trinidad Teen - Mini Documentary
Be it in the streets of NY, LA, Chicago, South America, the caribbean London, anywhere in the world; there is will always be a challenge to divert teens in the less fortunate neighborhoods from crime. I personally feel that it's up to the individual but if society does not care enough to give them more options like better after school programs, sports, education, presence on the streets, job opportunities, etc...then the cycle will only continue...

John Legend and Estelle - Sing Flow Free :::::SUPER DOPE FRESH::::::
Thanks to the good people over at GlobalGrind.com I found today a Free EP from the colloboration of this too.
The John Legend and Estelle's free collaborative effort (or FreEP) is comprised of seven duets including a cover version of recent RocNation inductee Jay Electronica’s “Shiny Suit Theory."
The track is followed by “You Are,” a duet version from Estelle's sophomore LP, Shine.
“Freedom” is a remix of “Free” from Estelle’s 2004 The 18th Day, laced with a verse from Talib Kweli. “Hey Girl” comes from the same album and “No Other Love” is from Legend’s 2008 album, Evolver.
Shine favorite “Come Over” is next before the EP draws to a close with “Fall In Love“, from Estelle’s forthcoming album All Of Me.
We didn't see this release coming. Happy Thanksgiving. Listen to it or download it below

Art Gallery Hiding Underneath NYC ::::SUPER DOPE FRESH:::::
So I am going through my usual daily web search for all things which I feel are SuperDopeFresh worthy and I find a very interesting article on GlobalGrind.com of an underground art gallery hiding under the big apple. The excerpts below are taken directly from the article and posted on here for your reading pleasure. Take your time and visualize such a great accomplishment from these artist. I personally think this is really cool, artsy and down right SuperDopeFresh... Now without any further ado...
"It 's one of biggest installation of its kind by some of the greatest figures in street-art and commercial trade. It was open for one night and closed. The equipment used to get there was destroyed and the original entrance was removed. The journalists that were involved were allowed to publish any details that would give up the location of the gallery. It's been open for weeks and you probably haven't seen it.
It has become an elusive pirate treasure of contemporary art.
Over the last year, 103 artists have been secretly escorted into an abandoned train station underneath New York City to take part in the Underbelly Project."

Check out many more pics below....
Looking thru the art work and the stills of artist taking a trek down into the "Underbelly" of the city and rendering an old and forgotten train system into a rustic gallery where imagination and passion for there work is the backdrop to there final production is something to truly admire.

Dirty Money ft Drake - Loving You No More Video
On this latest installment of Diddy's "Dirty Money" campaign, he has the help of Drake. They've put together a very good string of singles and I'm still waiting for the release of the Ultra single. One question I have is when is Diddy going to take those damn fronts out his mouth.
