We've all been patiently waiting to see what his next visual release would look like, hoping that he'd raise the bar after his self imposed hiatus(unlike Tiger Woods). ReplyDeleteThis video blew me away over, and over, and over (yes, I watched it that many times). The director, Marco Brambilla, said "I wanted to give it an epic feeling" to make it feel "hyper-sensational and exaggerated". He did just that using everything from complicated multi-layered imagery to 3-D graphics programs for feature films.
ReplyDeleteMost call it a music video, Kayne calls it a "living portrait", and you carefully categorized it as a "visual release". Regardless of format, the genius behind this 90 second masterpiece is undeniable and it takes the song (which is outstanding in itself) to the next level.
So overall.. Kanye gets an A from me. I say Welcome Back K-yezzy!
