ROMAIN JEROME - PAC MAN AND SPACE INVADERS WATCHES :::SUPER DOPE FRESH:::

Manuel Emch, CEO of RJ-Romain Jerome, confesses to being an arcade game addict back in the early ’80s, and his drug of choice was Space Invaders. The Swiss luxury watch company pays tribute to the attacking alien horde for the second year in a row, this time creating a black-hued timepiece with the 8-bit figures arrayed across the dial in colette‘s signature blue. Keeping up with the extraterrestrial theme, four functional ball-and-socket joints on the corners of the case are reminiscent of the legs on an American lunar landing module. The limited-edition watch is available in four additional colors — red, green, purple and yellow — with just eight pieces made for each.

After its much sought after Space Invaders creation with Parisian boutique colette, it was perfectly natural for the Swiss-base holorological experts to move onto the one and only gaming cult favorite, PAC-MAN.
With a license agreement from PAC-MAM’s creator, Japanese toy & gaming giant NAMCO BANDAI Games, Romain Jerome crafted a series of four designs, each a reference to game’s various stages. Ranging from the 3D colorization of the yellow protagonist to the whole game board, Ghosts and all, coming alive in Technicolor, each pixelated scenarios reenacted on a 46 mm, PVD-coated steel dial face in contrast matte black. Driven by a mechanical self-winding movement, Romain Jerome finalized the timepiece with actual spare parts from the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon.
At a suggested retail price of US$ 17,900 and limited to 20 timepieces for each design or a total of 80 units available worldwide, the Romain Jerome PAC-MAN Timepiece Collection will be for sale first at colette starting from September 3 to September 8, then via Romain Jerome dealers around the globe on September 10.
